Thank you and Farewell
I've been a member of this lovely group of swappers for a couple of years now and over that time I've received many, many beautiful hexie flowers for my Granny's Garden Quilt. I've also had much fun making hexies for other group members.
Thank you to everyone who swapped with me, I have a charming quilt - still under construction at this stage- to remind me of you all.
As my grandma duties increase and my involvement with some other projects has intensified, it is now time to leave this group and move on. I will always think of my time with The Inchy Hexie Flower Swap most fondly.
PS Huge thanks to both Jane and Janet for all their hard work in organising this swap for us.

March hexies from Karen arrived
Thank you Karen for these hexies from Australia, along with the matching card. They are perfectly made and wonderfully bright. Kathie L
Thank you Lynda - January Flowers
These were received the other week and were sent by Lynda McC and they are the flowers for January. Thank you for these lovely flowers Lynda, they are beautiful.
Lynette's March hexies
These hexies will go in the mail today for Lynette. I love that there are so many Australians in this swap. When I go to the post office, the clerk always says "Another Australian?" I took the picture this morning on the fresh snow that is falling. I think we've had more snow this spring than we had all winter!!

On Being a Probation Officer and February Flowers Received
I have worked for the Yukon Department of Justice for almost twenty years. For ten years I was a probation officer. Being a probation officer in the Yukon requires one to be a counsellor/supporter and an enforcer at the same time. It is a delicate balance, trying to gain the probationer's trust and provide guidance but also being the big gun when necessary.
When I agreed to take over coordination of the Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap I told myself that I was not going to be a probation officer. Everyone in this swap is presumably here because they want to be here and they are excited to give and receive hexie flowers.
But I am here today to give some gentle reminders. I have been distressed lately to see some posts from people who are missing hexie flowers, or who haven't heard that the ones they sent out have been received.
Please, please be as considerate to your fellow swappers as you would be to anyone else. This means:
* When you receive the swap list each month look at it to see who you are giving to and who is giving to you and let me know if there are any problems. I am not infallible. I seem to have made mistakes on each month I've sent out so far....
* E-mail your swap partner (everyone's e-mail addresses are included on the member's list)
1) to ask for clarification if you are unclear of what they are asking for,
2) to let them know that you have mailed their flowers,
3) to let them know you might be late and when you will send their flowers,
4) if you are already late - to let them know when you might be able to catch up with their flowers,
5) when you receive flowers
* Post public thank-you's on the blog with pictures if you are able to. You can also e-mail pictures to me and I will post them for you.
On a very positive note... look at the generous and kind response that Shannon posted after Lorraine let us all know that she doesn't feel she is able to continue in the swap and apologizing for those she is late sending to....
ShannonMarch 21, 2013 at 1:57 AM
Edited to add - Lorraine has let me know that Kris also offered to help her catch up. I understand that both Kris and Shannon are helping Lorraine as we speak.
I do hope that people don't think this post was to scold Lorraine. I thought it was very courageous of her to let us all know her situation. It was really just a reminder to everyone.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. I will help you any way I can. If you want to send me all that you have I will finish them for you. It will be my pleasure to lift this load from you. Just email me and let me know what I can do.
Shannon, this is a lovely offer and very sweet of you. I hope if you haven't heard from Lorraine that you will e-mail her, in case she doesn't go back and look at responses to her post.

I bet that Nora is wondering why I haven't posted a photo of the hexie flowers she sent me for February yet. I sent her an e-mail on March 6th letting her know they had arrived.
Well Nora sent me a lovely crocheted Victorian heart along with the hexie flowers she made. My sewing room was a mess and I put the heart in a "safe place" so I wouldn't lose it. The "safe place" was so safe that I couldn't find the heart when I wanted to take photos. So yesterday I spent several hours cleaning up my sewing room. I got sidetracked twice - starting new projects - oh why do I do that??? But I did finally find the heart. So here are photos - first of the lovely hexies and all that Nora sent: (Sorry - blogger insists on it being sideways)

March flowers sent and received
Ros Burton, I put your March flowers in the post today. They have a long way to go, don't they? Probably will take as long as if they were going to the USA! Anyway, hope you like them.
Also, recently received two beautiful flowers from Maree in Australia, they are perfect. Wish I could find my camera to take a picture, perhaps I will find it soon. Anyway, thank you very much, I love them and the cute koala card.

Look at me, all up to date!
I keep forgetting to take photos of my flowers before I send them. I'm usually posting them so late that I just want to hurry up and get them on their way.
But not this month. Here are my March hexie flowers which were in the post today!! And there's still a week and a half of the month left!!
Hope my partner like them....

Really can't keep up at the moment.
It really is time for me to withdraw my participation from this group for a while. I am still behind, not having felt like, or being inspired to really do any sewing as such since Christmas. Sure I do the odd doll dress but that is about it. I had hoped to catch up but feel like I am slowly getting further and further behind and after today's visit to the doctor (if you feel so inclined info on my Balancing Kiwi blog ) I will eventually send the hexie flowers I owe, and do have quite a few cut out and partially sewn up. But really do need to admit my limitations.
Please I know I have the list, but if all of that I owe flowers to could email me to let me know I owe you flowers, it would really be so much appreciated (and perhaps let me know the colour combinations you want) and then I can put you in one 'folder' so I can easily check on where I am at once I can get on with them.
Perhaps at a later date when I finally get myself sorted out I can rejoin?
Will also email our lovely leader who so valiantly tries to do all the organisation of this to let her know.
Please forgive my tardiness.

The flowers for Erica T. were sent off last week, so you should have them soon.I hope that you like them. I have not yet received any flowers from any of my 2013 swap partners, and have not been able to contact any of them. I don't know if their flowers were sent to me and lost on the way, or if they have not been able to make them. It is a mystery. I have not heard if any of the flowers that I sent out this year were received. I hope that all is well with them and that they are just too busy, and that I will hear something soon.

February Hexies
Today I received these gorgeous Hexies from Pat Battison. My very favorite flowers. Roses and Daisies. Thank you so much Pat, I know you sent Hexies to me right back in October 2011, so these are doubly appreciated. A big hug from Rosalie.
Hexies! Mini Hexies!
I joined a Flicker hexie bee called Get Your Hex On and made my first swap hexies today. They are so cute that I had to show you. In the photo is one of the hexies that we are making for this swap - 1 inchers - and the 1/2 inch hexies that this month's bee person requested. The little ones take just as long to make as the big ones do....
If anyone is interested, I think our bee master, Stacey, is still putting together a third hive. Check it out here.

March swap list
Hi everyone,
Hopefully you've all received the March swap list which I sent out yesterday. Please let me know asap if you think you should have received it but didn't, or if there are any problems with the list.
Please welcome out three new members this month: Sandra Scharch, Ana Ferrao and Maree Graff.
Three people have also decided to leave the group this month. We are saying good-bye to Anna Schuring, Deb Ramsey and Terry Fischer. We are sorry to see you go but hope you'll come back to show off whatever you make with your hexies!
I have taken all the addresses of people who are not currently in the swap off the master list. This is just to make it less confusing for me. If you still owe hexies to someone who has left the group and need their address, please contact me as I have the old addresses still.
We still have two spaces in the group as well, so if you know anyone who wants to join please let them know to contact me.
Here are my beautiful hexies received from Irene for the January swap.
And here is a sneak peek for Ana Ferrao of the February swap hexies that are winging their way to her in Portugal. (The trick being, of course, that they aren't actually green, grey and white.) They left last Thursday Ana. I hope they reach you soon.
