Wow! It’s September already. Where did our Northern Hemisphere summer go? It seems like we were just celebrating the beginning of summer. I know some of you are looking at the end of winter and are looking forward to summer. Can you tell that my favorite season is summer?
This month we welcome Tessa Johnson from Iowa, USA and Debbie Sprague from Florida, USA. We're also saying good-by to Lori Jones from Tennessee USA.
On another topic, as we all know, all things eventually come to an end, and I am at the point where I have more than enough flowers for my Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt and will be leaving the group. So saying, I’m hoping that one of you will be willing to take over organizing our monthly flower swap. Please let me know if you’re interested. The system I use is not difficult to use as long as you’re familiar with Excel. Of course, you’re free to work out your own system. I will stick around through the end of the year but if no one comes forward by then I guess the group will have to shut down. Please let me know if you’re interested.
The September 2016 lists have been emailed to you. Please let me know if you find any errors.

It's hot in Texas! We're still enjoying summer in the USA. I hope everyone is enjoying the weather, wherever you are and also enjoying your sewing.
A couple of reminders: The flowers you sew should be of 100% cotton. If you use scraps, which is perfectly fine, just make sure they are 100% cotton. I know that sometimes "life" gets in the way of our sewing. It happens to all of us but please communicate with your swap partner and let them know if their flowers may be late and when they can expect to receive them.
The August 2016 Lists have been emailed. Please let me know if you find a problem.

This month we also welcome Lynne Thiessen from Canada to the Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap. We're glad you're here.
The lists for July have been emailed. Please let me know if you find any errors.
Speaking of errors, for some reason, there were a few errors in our June lists. I had Michele BaDour and Helen Turner sewing flowers for themselves instead of each other. I have corrected the error but am sending them their flowers, no need to send to each other. I hope you like the flowers I'm sewing for you.
Enjoy July and happy sewing,

A reminder that we swap 2 hexie flowers per month, one inch on the side. The flowers are to be made from 100% cotton fabric.

OMG, it's May! This is something I am just now realizing on May3rd and that's why the "Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap" lists are late. This month we welcome Shelley Melnyk from Ohio, USA to our group. Glad to have you, Shelley.
The May 2016 Swap Roster and Member Lists have been emailed to you. Finally. Please let me know if you find any problems. Just a little reminder to use 100% cotton scraps if you're going through your scrap pile or even purchasing new fabric. Also the hexies are to measure 1 inch on each side.

It's finally spring in Texas! There are wildflowers growing everywhere.
Here's to a new month and new "Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap" lists. March was a quiet month, no new members and no members leaving. The April lists have been sent by email. A little reminder: we're making 1-inch hexagon flowers for each other. (That is 1-inch on the side, not across.) Please remember also to let the person who sent you flowers know that you've received them and let the person you're sending know that their flowers are on the way. I find that Facebook is really a fast way to communicate so check out our Facebook page if you haven't done so already.
Enjoy your sewing!

But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb... They found the stone rolled away and when they went in, they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them and said, "Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen!" (Luke 24:1-6)

Welcome to March!
This month we say hello to Donna Authenreith from Ohio and Sally Mace from Michigan, both in the USA. Welcome to the Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap!
I'm amazed at the difference our Facebook page has made. It seems like it's much easier to post there since I'm seeing so much more activity than what is seen on the blog. For those of you who haven't joined us on Facebook yet, click on the link below and ask to join.
Only members of the Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap are allowed to join. I have two requests from names I don't recognize. I realize that some may be signed into Facebook under a different name. So, does anyone claim either of these two names who I haven't accepted into the group?
Happy March and Happy Sewing,

I received these beautiful hexie flowers from Shannon!!! I absolutely love the colors and the fuzzy cut detail. I will try and work this technique on some of my future hexies.
It will absolutely work in my garden Shannon...thank you!
By the way, I'm really enjoying our Facebook Page interaction. Thank you Irene for setting it up! I still like that we are continuing with our blog though.
Have a wonderful day!!!

This month we’re saying “good-by” to Grit Kovacs who has enough flowers to make a quilt and “hello” to Sue Hayles from Australia, Daphne Tinkler also from Australia, and Amanda Hauser from South Dakota, USA. Welcome, Sue, Daphne, and Amanda!!
The Facebook page has been a huge success. I’ve noticed that more people are commenting on or “liking” posts made by other members. We have 41 members and 33 have signed up for facebook. We’re just waiting for the remaining 8 to join us. Just click on this link to join:
I want to remind everyone about the flowers size we use on “The Inchy Hexagon Flower Swap.” Notice the word “Inchy” in our name. That’s to remind everyone that the petals for our flowers should measure one inch on the side. Many make their own templates, which is wonderful, but please measure the sides of your hexagon. You can also order a package of templates already cut to size. I’ve bought them on ebay, quilting supply stores, and paperpieces.com. I’m sure there are other places that sell them as well.
The February lists have been sent to your email. Please let me know if you find any problems.
Hugs and happy sewing,

Wow, I got a fun parcel in the mail. Susan sent me three, yes 3 darling hexie flowers. She also included a fat quarter of some fun fabric. It is covered in bright beach umbrellas. Susan said this fabric reminded her of her beach in North Myrtle Beach.
I live in landlocked Utah so I really don't have much beach experience. The fabric reminds me of warm summer days. We have a couple of feet of snow in our front yard right now, it is not warm!
Thanks again Susan for the happy mail. It made my day!

I received these gorgeous December Hexies from Simone Smith! I love them! The colors are perfect.
Thank you so much Simone, and also for the lovely card!
These are my first hexies I have received since I joined last November.
Oops...the first two sets I mailed out, I have to confess that I messed up the size of the hexie flower and petal!!! The size of the total hexie flowers I made were 1" round. I will make sure to mail Celine Combet and Maggie Fellow the right size flower and petals. I feel awful an I apologize for my mistake!
